Development update — What happened on couchsurvey in May 2020?

couchsurvey is designed to be the most intuitive platform out there for surveys. We want to create a platform that users love creating, sharing and analysing their surveys with. This is a long path and along the path the most important factor for us are our users.

Therefore we want to include you into every step of creating our vision. When we decide what features to develop next, we almost exclusively look at suggestions and ideas made up by our users. We ask them how they imagine the platform and try to find the perfect basis for everyone, while maintaining simplicity and great design.

We decided to share this month’s progress in a single post to improve the communication with you — our users.

We chose to show you the following six cool new features down below that we developed in May 2020.

Delete answers: Last month, we gave you the possibility to preview your surveys. For some, this was not enough. Before they send the survey to their target group they want to get a feel for how the analysis would look like. Thats why we now give you the option to delete all the collected answers at any time. But please be sure you really want to delete all answers before you do!

Text slides: Simple as it is. Slides with text - not questions. Greet your participants and say something nice to them once in a while! Or thank them that they took part in your survey with a discount code.

Logic jumps: Finally we have jump logic. This enables you to guide your participants through the survey as you want. If your customers for example couchsurvey that they are very unsatisfied with a specific product or service you offer in a next step you could ask them why - the logic jumps enable you to only ask this question to the people that were unsatisfied for example. This keeps the survey short and clean for the rest of the participants.

Create a choice: While our select-choice module was intended to be used for questions with a large amounts of answers, it can occur that you do not think of some possible answers some users might want to give. So you can choose to let your participants create their own answers.

Skip Input: We gave the participants the option for skipping Input Questions - this leads to a fast and enjoyable experience. But sometimes these questions are essential. That’s why you can now remove the skip button and create mandatory questions.

New Question Menu: We gave you a drag and drop function for restructuring your survey last month. But with all these new types of elements and options added, single elements just became too long. So we switched the type-selection to a pop-up menu to make everything easier for you.

All of these functions would not be possible without you guys. So we would like to thank you for the numerous feedback and suggestions. We hope that you will continue to help us in the future and we are sure that we can develop the best survey platform in this way together. If you would like to contact us send us a mail at any time to hello@couchsurvey.com.
